Have you heard of #dariahTeach?

If not, then it is time to introduce you to this successful project and learning platform! #dariahTeach, a project affiliated with DARIAH VCC2: Research and Education, was created through the generous funding of an ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership to create a platform and content for open-source, high-quality, multilingual teaching materials for the digital arts and humanities. Begun in January 2015 and running through June 2017, #dariahTeach also had as its goal to strengthen alliances and foster innovative teaching and learning practices among members of the ESFRI-roadmap Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities (DARIAH).

This ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership was under the lead of Susan Schreibman, Maynooth University (Ireland), in collaboration with Aarhus University’s DIGHUMLAB (Denmark), “Athena” Research Center (Greece), the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Austria), Belgrade Centre for Digital Humanities (Serbia), Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands), University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (Switzerland).

In March 2017, the #dariahTeach learning platform launched in Lausanne, Switzerland with four courses and two workshops on Text Encoding and the TEI, Multimodal Literacies, Sound Studies, Digitizing Dictionaries, Spatial Image Analytics and Conceptual Modelling. Additionally, a collection of videos featuring a variety of voices and perspectives exploring a range of methodologies, theoretical approaches and disciplinary practices features in the Introduction to Digital Humanities course.

You can be part of this!

In the coming months, #dariahTeach is planning to open its platform for new content. This will include new courses, workshops, videos, as well as  even translations of this content into other languages. Would you like to spread the word on Digital Humanities teaching curriculum in your own language? Would you like to shape the list of topics for new courses? Then stay tuned for new guidelines and choose how you would like to contribute and be part of #dariahTeach!
