The Communities Engagement Working Group is pleased to announce its first outreach activity, a Webinar entitled Engaging Research Communities Beyond DARIAH: Identifying communities of practice. The Webinar will be held on Tuesday, December 5 2017!
For now, just make sure to put this on your calendar and we will be posting more information on this soon!
If you want to learn more about #dariahTeach, join this network and publish your own course or workshop on the #dariahTeach platform then consider applying to this Masterclass! Entitled “Creating Open Educational Resources for #dariahTeach”, this Masterclass is organised by An Foras Feasa, The Research Institute in the Humanities at Maynooth University and funded by DARIAH and Humanities at Scale. It will take place from November 30th – December 1st in Berlin, Germany.
This Masterclass will provide the background (theoretically and methodologically) for individuals or small teams (two people) to develop a #dariahTeach Course (5 or 10 ECTS) or Workshop (a course offering not pegged to specific ECTS). Its goal is to support educators who wish to publish peer reviewed educational material in the #dariahTeach platform. For this reason it is mainly aimed at individuals who have an active and/or demonstrable interest in developing open source, online teaching materials for the digital arts and humanities. Submissions are especially encouraged from early career researchers who have developed and delivered digital arts/humanities modules in their institutions, from experienced lecturers who have not had the opportunity of delivering online teaching materials, and from those who have developed F2F workshops and would like to reconceive them for online delivery. It is expected that successful participants will have already taught the proposed course/workshop F2F.
The Masterclass will be limited to 12 participants so apply soon! The event is open to European and international applicants. Accommodation and transportation will be covered for all participants up to a maximum of €600 for those based in Europe and up to €800 for those based outside Europe.
Applications should be made here. Deadline for applications is 5 October 2017.
In May 2017 members of DARIAH working group Digital Methods and Practices Observatory (DiMPO) gathered in Warsaw to sum up the ongoing activities and discuss the scope of further endeavours. The meeting and workshop were organised by Digital Humanities Centre at the Institute of Literary Research, Polish Academy of Sciences and chaired by Costis Dallas and Maciej Maryl. It was aimed at discussing the results of the survey on Digital Practices in the Arts and Humanities in the light of the feedback gathered in Rome during AIUCD Conference in January this year and the previous DiMPO meeting in Berlin (24 April 2017). While the research team is working on the final report, the highlights from the study on how digital researchers conduct their work have already been published online.Continue reading DiMPO Workshop on Digital Practices in Arts and Humanities
