Joëlle Weis is a post-doctoral researcher for the Marbach Weimar Wolfenbüttel research association where she works on the project Weltwissen. Das kosmopolitische Sammlungsinteresse des frühneuzeitlichen Adels focussing on digital methods in collection studies.
She obtained her Ph.D. in History in 2019 at the Universities of Vienna and Luxembourg with a dissertation on the historian Johann Friedrich Schannat (1683-1739) and his correspondence network.
From 2015 to 2019 Joëlle was a Management Committee Member of the COST Action Reassembling the Republic of Letters, where she developed a strong enthusiasm for digital humanities and reinforcing dialogue between different communities.
Her research interests include the history of knowledge, book history, social network analysis, public history as well as historical epistemology and philosophy of science.
